If the world and organizations need experts capable of solving specific problems in their field, given the stakes, their interconnections and the urgency, it is now essential to massify sustainability acculturation and ensure that a growing number of graduates and professionals have a sufficient understanding of sustainability and the ability to integrate it into their professional practices and decisions.

By launching the first international certificate of sustainability knowledge (The Assessment of Sustainability Knowledge, TASK), Sulitest aims to create a lever for systemic change that will make the understanding of sustainability a common language for all.

A tool that is robust...

The development of TASK™ took place over 1 year, including as many stakeholders as possible. In addition to the internal Sulitest team, a "TASK Force" composed of experts and researchers worked on the technical characteristics of the assessment and its platform. The R&D committee committee supported this development by ensuring the consistency of decisions made by the operational teams. Finally, a team of external writers (experts and researchers on sustainability issues) participated in the creation of the assessment content: the questions/answers and their alignment with the TASK™ knowledge domain.

Defining our sustainability knowledge domain required mobilizing relevant scientific literature and existing approaches and frameworks for sustainability. Sulitest surrounded itself with a "TASK Force" composed of academics and sustainability professionals as well as an assembly of stakeholders, the "Fellows" to document and ensure the coherence of the work. This process required making choices to position our tools and actions in the fields of sustainability and sustainability education, which allowed us to build our own knowledge model reflecting our vision of sustainability.

Our different sources of inspiration

By design, TASK™ aims to be consistent with existing frameworks in the field of education for sustainability, such as the UNESCO SDG education learning objectives, the European GreenComp sustainability competency framework or the reference framework of the report led by Jean Jouzel for the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation "Raising Awareness and Training for the Challenges of the Ecological Transition in Higher Education".

The United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development:
The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are now a well-known framework, so it was important for us to align ourselves in part with this framework.

The Planetary boundaries:
This approach builds on the framework developed by the Stockholm Resilience Institute, which identifies nine planetary boundaries that govern the stability and resilience of the Earth system. This approach falls under the school of thought that the role of humanity, society, and the economy must fit within the Earth's systems and its physical boundaries.

Kate Raworth's "Doughnut Economics" model (2017):
The Doughnut model is based on the planetary boundaries framework and consists of two concentric rings: a social foundation, to ensure that no one lacks the essentials of life, and an ecological ceiling, to ensure that humanity does not collectively exceed the planetary boundaries that protect Earth's life support systems.
