Most fibres and films are made using fossil fuels. To address this issue, the CBE JU-funded project EFFECTIVE has made considerable progress in #sustainable textile by making #biobased options for two widely used materials: #polyamides and #polyesters. 👕 Our latest #CBEachievements story showcases that EFFECTIVE's green materials can be used in a host of sectors. Advancements like these enable the #textile sector's contribution to climate, nature, and zero pollution goals, as well as sustainable resource management, in line with the objectives of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2024. In recent decades, natural resources have come under growing pressure to satisfy global food requirements. This trend is expected to intensify due to increasing population and consumption demands. 🍔 Arbiom, the SylPlant lead partner, has developed #protein-rich food and feed ingredients by combining underexploited feedstock like agricultural or forestry residues with yeast.
