IYAFA 2022 | Hybrid Global Closing Event - Towards a new era of support for small-scale fisheries and aquaculture

Rome, 31/03/2023 31/03/2023

The International Year of Artisanal Fisheries and Aquaculture (IYAFA) 2022 celebrated the contribution of millions of small-scale fishers, fish farmers and fish workers who work every day for better production, better nutrition, a better environment, and a better life for all.

The year has laid the groundwork for a new era that will enable small-scale artisanal fishers, fish farmers and fish workers to enhance what they do and benefit from a Blue Transformation. As the year draws to a close, FAO is organizing a hybrid event that will showcase actions taken to celebrate the Year, and announce commitments to bring the IYAFA 2022 recommendations to fruition.
